I revisited a project I completed in school (2018), the brief for which was to create an eco friendly piece of furniture. The audience I was designing for were students of an International School, meaning the average height and size of students varied a lot. Therefore, I chose to design an adjustable chair which would accommodate students of all shapes and sizes, while only using recycled materials.

Using very simple CAD drawings, I tested the dimensions and joints of the chair. These same files were then used to cut each “slice” of the chair using a Lasercutter.

Using only carboard boxes found in the recycling bin, I cut about 90 layers of each part of the chair, which I then glued together, creating a very sturdy surface.
